Smoothies are a Great Way to Take in More Protein for Muscle Mass

smoothies for protein bulkIf you have ever been on a workout plan to pack on more muscle then you have been down the “eat more protein” rabbit hole. I only call it this because there are a myriad of ways to ingest more protein and just as many philosophies on the best way to do so.

The number one thing people reach for first are protein shakes from health and nutrition stores. These are usually big bulky containers of powder that a person is instructed to mix into a milk of their choosing and drink 1-3 times daily.  

At first it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal and some of them can taste pretty decent. But after a while people generally start getting sick of forcing down these chalky drinks. They start changing flavors, then brands until the stark reality hits them that all of them are pretty much the same. 

Smoothies to the Rescue

It’s granted that you will not be able to get the massive doses of protein that you need if you are a professional body-builder from a smoothie. But you should be able to get sufficient protein from a smoothie added to an already rich protein diet of various meats if you are lifting weights and trying to put on muscle.

Option 1

You can simply add a scoop of your power to your favorite fruit smoothie. The scoop will get lost in the mix and you will almost exclusively taste delicious fresh fruits.

Option 2

You can create a smoothie using more protein rich veggies like kale, spinach or even avocado. Protein does not always have to come from an animal source. How do you think herbivores are able to build muscle?
